After electronics giant Samsung revealed that the company’s upcoming 2022 smart TVs will boast non-fungible token support (NFT), the company revealed that it has opened a virtual store within the Decentraland metaverse. Similar to the Samsung 837 physical store, the Samsung metaverse store is called “Samsung 837X”.

Samsung steps towards Metaverse

Samsung is all about the metaverse and NFTs these days, as the company has opened a shop inside the metaverse Decentraland virtual blockchain. Built from the physical location in New York City, the Samsung 837X Store will be open to visitors to Decentraland for a limited time.

“Samsung’s new metaverse experience brings its spirit as an experimental playground for people to discover the amazing possibilities when technology and culture collide,” explains the electronics manufacturer’s announcement. The company also explains that visitors will be able to experience the Connection Theatre, the Sustainability Forest, and the Personalization Stage.

Samsung NFT Badges and Metaverse Mixed Reality Live Dance Party

According to Samsung, fans browsing through the stage and jungle can “complete quests along the way to earn 837X Non-Fungible Token (NFT) badges.” The stage will feature Samsung News and the stage will include a “Live Mixed Reality Metaverse Dance Concert” hosted by DJ Gamma Vibes.

“At Samsung 837X, we are excited to tell our stories of connectivity, sustainability and personalization in a new way, in a unique space,” said Michelle Crosan Matos, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Communications at Samsung Electronics America, in a statement. Crosan Matos added:

The metaverse enables us to transcend physical and spatial boundaries to create unique virtual experiences that could not otherwise occur. Innovation is in our DNA, and we can’t wait for you all to experience this thriving virtual world.

Meanwhile, metaverse tokens originating from projects like Decentraland and The Sandbox have seen good gains in recent weeks. Decentraland (MANA), the original token of the blockchain metaverse, has gained 2,304% since the beginning of the year. Both projects have seen significant land sales lately, and converging lands have also been sold for a significant amount of money.
